Pure Class A unconditional stability

These two components are about to land for a while at Carlton Audio Visual. They are something rather special ... the AMS50 is one of those very few power amps that have been made that offers pure Class A amplification into all impedance loads with absolute stability.

It is in the ilk of certain American products such as K...l that are built to be the iresistable force that compels the drive-units of a loudspeaker to be modulated perfectly according to the input signal. In the case of the MF AMS50 there is an iron hand contained within a smooth velvet glove ... think Aston Martin DB9 Special or Ducati Desmodici as a motor vehicle analog.

Triode Class A

The Primo Preamp is commensurate with this particular design philosophy ... it is a pure class A Triode design that is intended to match the Absolute brute force of the power amplifier with Absolute delicacy and detail retreival.

I suffered a Preamplifier epiphany when I heard the original Musical Fidelity MVT Preamplifier in the eighties. This was the device that was derived from a circuit design that was used to measure the potential difference across a caterpillar's nervous system and it was a revelation for me in those days of large Japanese power amplifiers how much better it was than any thing else I had heard to that date.

The Primo is intended to be an MF tour de force that establishes this UK company at the the very top of the pile for this critical low voltage component.
