Sinister black box AVR500

Arcam came out with their truly spectacular AVR600 last year and basked while the critics showered them in praise. Now they decided to release a slightly cut down version to get it into the hands of more folk than ever. Based on the same high definition AV platform behind the AVR600 and AV888 the brand new AVR500 is aiming to deliver the same high quality audio at a much better price. To that end much of the less used features have been dispensed with. This includes many of the analogue video connections, the ethernet card and some multi-room features. What this means is that the large quantity of home theaters that won't use the AVR600's massive feature set don't have to pay for it. Not to say that it's cut down to far, the AVR500 will still support more than just the essentials. Full HD audio and video support, plenty of HDMI inputs (2 out puts!) and some serious amplification to name just a small selection of what it's offering.
