We weren't quite sure what to make of this when it first arrived. Its a bit of an odd shape, being long, tall and narrow. Its a sub with 2x6" drivers. Its full of digital signal processing. In short, its a bit quite different for a sub. And we fear change...

All fears were eased when we plugged it in for a listen though, as its actually dead good. Tuneful and deep, it also goes loud without too much effort and blending in quite nicely. Plus its dimensions make it look really nice along side your entertainment unit. Its a sub thousand dollar sub thats actually good, so come have a listen.

"Unusually at its price level, the Model 2070S subwoofer is a completely DSP (Digital Signal Processing) driven system with highly efficient class D amplification. However this has meant we have been able to achieve an advanced level of functionality, as well as optimising the sonic performance, by undertaking all filtering and limiting completely in the digital domain. An example is the Speaker Type function switch, which alters the characteristic of the subwoofer's frequency response at the crossover point. This allows the subwoofer to be optimised for use with either ported speakers, like the rest of the Q Acoustics range, or infinite baffle models."
