Fat Ladys and thin gents

Now at CAV courtesy of the inestimable Mr Kent are these legendary very top of the range Morel loudspeakers.

The Morel Fat Lady is a pure Carbon Fibre floorstanding speaker with voluptuos lines somewhat reminiscent of paleolithic fertility sculptures. I first saw the prototype of these at the CES show 2 years ago and was deeply impressed ... think Mc Claren F1 of the loudspeaker world ...

Last night I was fortunate enough to have my first proper session with these critters. They have that uncanny ability to portray music in three dimensions by being able to reach into the nuances of a recording so far as to bring out that extra sense of space. they are so very liquid in their rendition that at first one wonders wether there is anything special ... and then it dawns on you that you are hearing an extra layer to the music that simply wasn't there before.

They are proper smooth, there are speakers out there that we think of as being easy going on the top end ... Dynaudio Confidence ... Ambience Ribbons ... Spendors .... nothing is as easy to listen to for hours and days whilst rendering amazing detail as the singing treble of these ladies. They are the healing audio balm to ears suffering years of harmonic distortion at the top end. Morel Fat Lady website
