$30000.00

Carlton Audio Visual is pleased to offer this revolutionary new projector that uses three high power LEDs as the light source instead of the traditional projector lamp. We are the first company in Australia to display the Mico 50.

If you are in the market for a lifetime projection purchase I believe this is the one. it has an amazingly film portrayal of video.

This projector has instant off/on, potential 100,000 hours light source life, no colour wheel, and as such represents a quantum leap in high end consumer projection technology.

Whilst there are a couple of other just released LED projector devices derived from the competing Delta manufacturing concern such as the Runco branded device, they do not have the unqiue liquid cooled LED engine of the Sim 2 and are only running half the light output.

The Sim2 is an originally engineered product that dosn't waste that cavernous internal space of the aforesaid Runco. It is beatifully constructed.

The picture quality is outstanding, sharing that effortless artifact free clarity of the best triple DLP chip dsigns without the pain of mechanical cooling and limited globe duty cycle.

The Grand Cinema MICO 50 sports "Pure LED" technology, a combination of 3 high-powered LEDs, the latest DLP chipset, advanced video processing and a new light engine.

The light source utilised in this device is a trio of high power Phlatlight LEDs by Luminus (one for each primary colour Red, Green and Blue) directing light into the projector optics without going through an ordinary projector's colour wheel.

It uses an 8-bit-per channel high-speed current driver that balances the light intensity coming from the three LED modules, precisely matching the projector's light output to the incoming video signal.

The MICO 50 is equipped with Texas Instruments' latest Darkchip4 DLP (Digital Light Processing) chipset and DynamicBlack technology that is able to deliver Full HD images and a contrast ratio of 100,000:1.

SIM2's PureLED technology implements video processing with enhanced i/p conversion algorithms that allows the Grand Cinema MICO 50 projector to de-interlace and scale both standard and HD signals and reproduce them in full-HD resolution.

In addition, the typical life of the LED modules is estimated at a minimum of 30,000 hours and the output of the LED stays consistent over its entire lifetime, with average lumen reduction of less than 5 per cent after 2000 hours. It also comes with a liquid-cooling system to reduce its operating noise. Another great user benefit is that LED allows near-instant power up and shut down.

The Mico 50 is available with two different lens options: T1 (short-throw) and T2 (long-throw), with a total throw ratio range of 1.5 – 3.9:1. Both lenses come with motorised zoom and focus control as standard. Moreover, the MICO 50 is equipped with both vertical and horizontal motorised lens shift to ease installation.

The Grand Cinema MICO 50 is available in a high-gloss Gunmetal finish for $29,999.

"What Hi Fi?" March 2010 have a few nice things to say about the Mico 50:

"And the performance? According to press release, Mico means 'Sparkle' in Latin, but that seems a curiously inadequate way to encapsulate the Sim2's advantages overits rivals. This projector dosn't so much sparkle as shine, its staggering light unformity, edge to edge brightness and sheer vibrancy giving its images the punch of a giant direct view Television."

"With a clean Blu Ray transfer - "District 9's" direct-from-digital intensity is ideal, it's a staggering experience, one that leaves even hardened AV reveiwers speechless."

"The Dark Night's" extended night time sequences, so stern a test for any video display device, are even more remakable: the Mico 50 simply lifts the veil that blights the image with so many lesser, cheaper designs, snapping the action to the fore in quite spectacular style."
