This universal player is a terrific all round disc source. It is so much better than the basic Sharp / Sony player and does a very creditable job on CD. It actually will replay SACD and DVD audio discs as well. |

It must be Blu Ray season ... within in a day of the Cambridge BD751 we get the much awaited Denon BDP2012. Denon afficianados will note that that this has actually skipped a model number, it should have been a 2011 like the rest of the new mnodel Denon kit but has actually gone a year ahead. |

This is the replacement for the very successful 650BD player uprated with HDMI 1.4 and two HDMI outputs. Expect it to be a rock solid reliable performer with terrific audio and video replay for the money. It is said to be faster loading than the 650. |

Hunky ... that is the first thing you note when you unpack this. I always trust kilograms in any thing to do with read write mechanisms and spinning discs. Equals more stability, less vibration, less jitter, fewer read errors , longer lasting. |

The much awaited higher range model to the 650 with multiple everything ... we plugged it in and it immediately has a fabulous picture and a really fast load time ...
The spec includes five Wolfson WM8740 24/192kHz Digital to Analogue converters, Anagram Technologies Q5 192 kHz upsampling, a choice of digital filters (why?) and very particular attention to the design of audio circuits to allow the 751BD to reproduce the dynamics and scale required for the most elaborate movie soundtracks. |

This is the South London design house answer to the Oppo BD105. The BD752 is essentially a fully featured universal disc player, digital to analogue converter, multi format media streamer, USB converter with multiple inputs ... very cool.

To be frank there is a dearth of very good Blu Ray Players ... The high water mark of the Denon DVD A1 and the Marantz UD9400 has not been acheived by the newer products. Rather the market place peaks out at about $1000 with very few to choose from above that. In some ways this represents a qualitative deliniation that is the limiting factor of Blu Ray and it also is indicative of the volatility of the format that the manufacturers are unwilling to invest in it above a certain quality level.
That being said the Oppo BD105 is on the top of the current pile, with it's excellent weighty chassis well equipped with outputs including balanced out stereo pair, comprehensive video boards and excellent build, this is the flagship of this brand that has cut a swathe through the Blu Ray player market. |

This unit really does need to be seen to be believed. It does things to a TV or projector that make it look like a window into another room. You'll want to get up and reach into the screen to see if the image really is as 3D as it looks... absolutely stunning. The DVDA1_UDC1 is a truly Universal Disc player. It will play back high-quality Blu-ray Disc in their native 1080p and do a spectacular job of upscaling standard DVDs. It also is an amazing two-channel and multichannel music device when given CDs, DVD-Audio and SACD discs to play. |
