This is one of the first V2.0 players available from a non tier one manufacturer that is an in-house design and fully representative of the companies design ethos and qualitative market position.

Denon comes out swinging into the mid price Blu Ray market with this solid contender. Beautiful images and audio aside, the DBP2010 offers fast Blu Ray load time and play back support for just about any disc you want to throw at it.

This is is a really well built piece of kit as well, you are immediately impressed by its sense of solidity and weight when you pick it up. All the outputs can run in parallel as well which is a terific piece of convenience for wiring up combinations of contemporary and legacy devices. In our very hard worked middle demo area where we still maintain a workhorse Fujitsu 50 inch Plasma it means we can run component to the TV whilst running HDMI audio to the amplifier. In a clients home it would allow them to run a high def panel in the main area via HDMI while sending analogue video elsewhere around the house.

There's a video processing stage designed by Anchor Bay (of DVDO fame) for up scaling and i/p conversion. There's on board audio processing and 7.1 analogue output and it's own isolated audio block to prevent interference in pure audio mode. It's all in all a damn impressive player.

The Denon BDP4010 is a high spec, beautifully made, Universal disc player, that delivers exceptional performance on Blu-Rays, DVD's, SACD's and is no slouch when it comes to regular CD's. Partnered with a good display, the BDP4010's image quality is one of the best we've seen - only beaten by it's big brother the $10K DVDA1.

This unit really does need to be seen to be believed. It does things to a TV or projector that make it look like a window into another room. You'll want to get up and reach into the screen to see if the image really is as 3D as it looks... absolutely stunning. The DVDA1_UDC1 is a truly Universal Disc player. It will play back high-quality Blu-ray Disc in their native 1080p and do a spectacular job of upscaling standard DVDs. It also is an amazing two-channel and multichannel music device when given CDs, DVD-Audio and SACD discs to play.
