Krix although it's very well known in cinema circles overseas is surprisingly underappreciated in its home Australian market. In 40 years, what started as a band of brothers making stereo speakers in an Adelaide garage has turned into one of the biggest players for speakers in the international commercial cinema market. And they're still made in Adelaide...although their garage has expanded considerably.

Krix do eyewatering High-End commercial theatre fitouts in places like the Middle East and China in a range of gear that is not really seen in commercial theatres in Australia. They've kitted out all of the Village Gold class theatres and many of the larger cinema chains and independent theatres choose Krix for the same reason our clients choose Krix...great value and fantastic sound.

Krix has adapted the 'speakers behind the screen' approach found in commercial theatres for the home with their MX series. Three speakers; Left, right and centre and two subwoofers either side of the centre make up the array. With the larger MX20 and MX30 systems, you really do need to build them in behind a screen. The beauty of the little MX5 system is that it can feasibly sit around a screen on the floor avoiding a costly rebuild of your whole wall and a new Acoutically Transparent Screen.

And even though it's little, boy does the MX5 deliver. Big dynamics, big room pressurisation and high impact. All with that warmth and depth of sound that never has you reaching to turn the volume down.

These days it's so hard to find a half decent small monitor TV. The Asian TV brands either simply start at 55 inch or if they have a smaller set, they are horrible things that look bad when they're on and even worse when they're off.

For many family entertaining areas having good for movies and the occcaisional big screen gaming is important but they're not willing to spend thousands on an amplifier to deliver the very best.

A real sleeper in the marketplace. One Saturday morning recently we happened to leave a pair of these running in stereo with Adele playing through them and three groups of people bought them one after the other in a kind of Hi Fi feeding frenzy. They hadn't intended to buy loudspeakers but they were caught up by the energy and presence that the Acoustix are able to portray.

Their secret is the D'Appolito configuration with large motor to cabinet ratio and an excellent tweeter with a cabinet that is immensely solid.

Once when I was visiting the Krix factory in South Australia they demonstrated the cabinet integrity of the Acoustix by taking one off the production line and asking the nastiest largest Bikiest individual there to destroy it. Well Roy jumped on it, sledgehammerd it, threw it to the ground, dropped it out of a third story window onto concrete and really went for it with quite disconcerting violence.

Unlike Mr Musk and the Tesla Cybertruck windows the Acoustix came out of this encounter unscathed except for surface and corner damage ....

Oh, and they sound damn good too. They have is rhythm, pace and slam that a speaker on a stand has no right to be able to produce. The Acoustix Mk2 is simply toe tapping fun. $1895 in a real wood veneer, or save a few dollars with black vinyl wrap at $1495.

This is a very capable 2 channel amplifier with a suite if 8K HDMI inputs.

A perfect amplifier for Home Theatre and music. It doesn't have all the speaker outputs of the bigger Denon Surround Sound Receivers but many people only have a pair of speakers and don't ever use the 11 other speaker terminals.

There is one way to get extreme bass from a small box without going into weird science ... and SVS are following a tried and trusted horizontally opposed drive unit path here to get that deep bass from a tiny enclosure. Other pundits of this design path have been Devialet with their Phantom speaker series and Sunfire with their excellent subwoofers.
