  • Sony VPL-VW870ES

This is quite simply, the best projector we've ever had in the store by a long margin. Essentially it's Sony's $90K projector put in to the slimmer more home/mounting friendly chassis of the VPL VW760. It's priced, however, closer to the 760 which makes it in our minds, a RIPPER.

The picture quality with this projector is transformative. The detail brings out a depth of field that is unrivaled. Images sparkle with an intensity because the colour gamut is so large.

Laser light source will provide circa 20,000 hours of viewing (that equates to around 10 years IF you're playing the projector 6 hours every day).

Come in and experience David Attenborough's Earth in our dedicated Home Theatre Room.

  • Loewe Bild S 77", Germany's best OLED TV?

The New Bild S is German Television manufacturer, Loewe's, new reference set. When on, it's an image that draws everyone in to stare open mouthed at it. It's realism and depth is awe inspiring. A boldness of colour that is mesmerising but lacks the artificiality seen on other sets.

This set sets itself apart not only by its image quality but the finish on the unit as well. With a double layer of glass and a motorised screen that will slide up to reveal the soundbar as well as a slim bezel that feels like its been hewn from alien rock. The whole unit is machined and engineered in a manner that you'd expect from a premium German manufacturer.

The Bild S looks and feels expensive without being over the top and ostentatious. It blends into a room when its not on. Not drawing attention to itself until its switched on and it beckons you in.

Because of the high quality of materials and precise construction, the Bild S offers a longevity that's not afforded by other Asian manufacturers. For those who'd like to buy just one TV that will last a decade or more, Loewe is the one. I have a 10 year old Loewe Television at home and the picture quality demolishes most modern, Asian sets you can buy these days.

In the Loewe tradition, the soundbar on the Bild S consists of a front firing, sleek looking 2 x 60W stereo array. The set is more than capable of punching out an engaging soundtrack. There's no need to add a bulky cumbersome sound system to these sets. For those who want a stand alone, do it all Television, the Bild S is perfect.

These Televisions are loved by interior designers and Audio Visual enthusiasts alike. Elegance and performance in one package.

  • Sony VPLVW790ES ... state of art 4K three chip laser projector

Quite simply the optimum pathway towards luxury theatre with a large screen and high quality source. There may be better projectors ... such as the Sony VPLVW890 and the remarkable new GTZ380 but mein gott you will have to shell out extra peffnig for them.

For me the overriding performance indicator of this projector is the purity of its colour ... the appearance of white snow through one of these devices makes everything else look like Frank Zappa's yellow stuff ("Don't eat the yellow snow" 1974)

White rendition is something we tend to take for granted, reviewers always talk about the reds and the colour dynamic and black levels ... however once you see a pure white reproduced effectively you cannot go back.

  • Loewe Bild V.65 new model!

Loewe started manufacturing Televisions in 1923 and actually made the first commercially available Television. After a few years of being manufactured in other European countries, they're now back being produced and headquartered in Kronach, Germany's heartland.

I visited Kronach and the Loewe factory in 2015. Kronach is a tiny town for German standards and its industry and in fact it's whole economy has been dominated by Loewe for generations. Most people who live in Kronach work or have worked in the Loewe factory. When I was there, there were multiple generations of the one family working side by side to exacting standards on the Televisions. All of this in what is a Storybook looking town with old wooden houses and a medieval castle on the hill.

Loewe Televisions, like premium German made motor vehicles, contain a workmanship and attention to detail above their Asian made counterparts. Machine engineered alloy bezels, cable management systems, intuitive remote and interface and swivel stands that come as standard are the details that don't come with other Televisions.

The Bild V is elegant, yet solid and robust to out live most of its contempories.

The picture quality, as you'd expect with a Television of this calibre, is bold and expressive without ever seeming artificial. Although it's pitched at replacing the old Bild 5 units, the Bild V has the same panel as the higher end Bild 7 and in substance is much closer in spec to those.

Expect this Television to out perform generations of other Asian made units because of the picture and build quality. An expectional Television.

If you want a TV, that's just simply special, then these are the ones.

  • Epson LS12000 Laser Projector eta May 2022

Bigger, brighter and more beautiful, the future is Laser.

This is Epson's first real 4K unit but more than that, it will actually pixel shift that whole 4K matrix. This means it'll be BETTER than 4K...and that's unheard of in the residential projector market.

It's also a 3 chip LCD design meaning there is zero rainbowing. Rainbows are nice after rain but not on your projector screen. There really aren't many projectors with 3 chips under the $10K mark.

Traditionally this place in the market has been dominated by Sony projectors in Australia. But this Epson may just trump them!

We're very excited about seeing this Projector in the flesh which should be very soon (May 2022).

  • Sony VPL VW290ES Projector

Sony projectors have become the gold standard for us in residential applications. Their images are simply brilliant. And it comes down to some very clever technology that they use. This technology is filtering down into the lower levels of projectors as well making the VPL VW290es unbeatable in that sub $10,000 category.

Like its predecessor, the VPL VW270es, this projector is native 4K and doesn't employ any shaking or shifting chips to produce a 4K image. It's the real thing. It also has the 4K motionflow technology on board to give a life like smoothness to the image.

What's new in the 290 that the 270 didn't have, is the X1 chip processor. This intelligent chip contains an image analyser and applies Dynamic HDR enhancer and super resolution.

Dynamic Tone Mapping is present in this model too where before it was exclusively for the higher end models.

There are of course some things that Sony have kept exclusively for the higher end models. The Laser light source is the most obvious. With the lamp light source you're looking at 1500 peak lumens instead of 2200 for something like the VPL VW870es with the Laser.

Interestingly the inner lenses are made of glass in this model but the outer cover is plastic. The lenses are all aspherical to stop refraction aberation, a feature normally found on much more expensive projectors. Sony is really being clever here getting the aspherical lens in at this price point using cheaper materials in an effective manner.

Overall a sensational projector for people serious about Home Theatre without spending a fortune. This unit is already proving itself as a customer favourite.

  • Loewe Bild 3.65 OLED

We believe that we are selling this particular gorgeous piece of German Television Real estate at the best price in the world. The local distributor has gone all out to get the lowest sell price for this new model into the Ultra competitive and saturated Australian Television marketplace

With Loewe famous for making perhaps the world’s most desirable televisions, that $6999 price for a 65-inch OLED should be attracting attention among the local TV industry, as well as consumers.

It is a full $3000 below LG’s pricing for its OLED W8 ‘wallpaper’ model (65-inch RRP $9999), $700 below LG's E8 Series 65-inch OLED ($7699), with only the entry-level OLED from the South Korean giant coming in lower, at $6399.

Loewe’s bild 3 OLED models look good when turned on, thanks to the zero-black front-emissive nature of OLED. The blid 3.65 is a full UHD-resolution TV with High Dynamic Range, including not only HDR10 but also Dolby Vision and HLG (broadcast HDR).

And Loewe TVs generally look good as objects even when not in use. The bild 3 range has various options to mount on the wall, with its table stand on a suitable surface, or free-standing with the optional floor stand. Loewe is also renowned for improving sound quality over the usual suspects, here with dedicated front speakers, along with a digital audio link interface to connect additional Loewe sound systems.

  • Loewe Bild 3 55 S2 inch TV, OLED

Step it up a notch to OLED with Loewe and you won't be dissapointed.

OLED TVs do away with the need to have a Backlight on the screen which inevitably causes bleed through onto the panel reducing colour and picture accuracy. Organic LEDs are different from normal LEDs in that they can individually switch themselves off. This is why people first notice the incredible blackness on an OLED screen - a traditional LED or LCD screen always has some residual light shining through.

The Bild 3.55 is where the OLED screens begin in the Loewe range and like all Loewe products they offer a build quality far and above other manufacturers who also utilise OLED technology.

Firstly, they have a built-in dedicated soundbar to enhance your listening experience where the bulk of a dedicated sound system isn't practical. Secondly, the Aluminium chassis oozes class and elegance as well as rigidity.
