The Joey bookshelf speakers have been a favourite of Carlton AUdio Visual since Dr Rod Crawford made his first set many years ago. For a speaker that is just under $1000 per pair, they have a clarity of tone and precision that is simply unrivalled.

Adding to that, these are hand crafted here in Australia and finished off with real hard wood Aussie veneers.

Rod, not only uses the best parts available in his speakers, he also knows HOW to use them. He was Linn Acoustics head speaker designer for many years and has degrees upon degrees from the best universities in the world. On top of that he has a deep passion for sound and music. You'll often catch Rod at classical music concerts up and down the East coast of Australia or chatting about the intricacies of speaker design to anyone who is interested.

His passion results in a speaker that is much better than it's meagre price point.

You'll need a good amplifier to bring out the most of these. But when you give them the kind of power they deserve, they will reward!

This is what Dr Rod Crawfor of Legend Acoustics has to say about the Joey 14s:

''For the bass and critical mid-range frequencies of Joeys we employ very high quality 150 mm units with cones made of very strong aluminium alloy. These cones are further strengthened by radial ribs so that they remain pistonic in their pass band and we add constrained-layer damping to reduce the effects of break-up outside their pass band. Together with excellent motor and suspension systems, the ensuing low distortion allows the listener to hear tonal structure of notes, resulting in greater realism of the reproduced music – and not just some homogenised undifferentiated version.

The tweeter has an aluminium-alloy dome that combines the exceptional detail of a metal dome with superb high-frequency extension. It has a copper cap to reduce voice-coil inductance and so minimize phase shift. And it has a saturation controlled motor for extraordinarily low distortion. The result is crystal clarity throughout its treble without hardness or confusion."

Shipping on these items will be standard delivery. If you want expedited shipping, an option should be available at checkout.

We try to dispatch all goods within 48 hours however from time to time the stock in store runs out before we have a chance to update the website. In these cases we will contact you if the item will take longer than 48 hours to be dispatched.

We strongly suggest that items are shipped to a business address, or an address where someone can sign for the delivery. On checkout you have the option of choosing Authoirty to Leave. This will not require a signature, but goods will be left at your premise and the delivery company will take no responsibility for them beyond this point.

Delivery times can vary depending on location. Regional areas may take more than 5 business days depending on the courier used.
