Garrott Brothers

Since the early 1980s, Garrott Brothers has shown that recorded music can be reproduced with all of the drama, listener involvement and character of an actual live performance. This philosophy has been developed to a high degree over a number of years, resulting in the acclaimed Garrott Decca cartridges that even now retain a strong following among audio enthusiasts. It has been Garrott Brothers’ ambition to capture this level of sonic faithfulness to the spirit of the performance and to make it available in a more convenient form.

The Garrott Brothers paved the way in cartridges away from the mass market, blah-sounding cartridges of the 70s to something that was simple but simply well thought out. These had huge appeal in the audio sphere where the identical twin brothers became fast gurus in their own right.

The Brothers' lives were somewhat fascinating...I hasten to say that these two Aussies had brilliant minds for audio engineering and design solutions. They have passed away now, but the manufacture of these luscious sounding cartridges continues to this day in Melbourne.
