  • Loewe Bild 2 LCD TV 43" ($2499) & 49" ($2999)

We're excited about Loewe's new Bild 2 range of Televisions. 4K detail and clarity in a chassis that's sleek and stylish - a hallmark of everything Loewe.

The Bild 2s don't go to the size extremes of the more expensive models in the Loewe range coming in models of 43" (96cm wide x 61.9cm high, bezel included) & 49" (111.6cm wide x 70.8cm high) and they are both LCD TVs rather than using the OLED panels in the larger displays of their Bild 3, 5 & 7 models. This means they don't have the extraordinary colour contrast possisble in an OLED display but it's not very far off.

For alot of people this is the perfect compromise - a better than great picture without the expense of an OLED screen. The smaller 43" & 49" screens also fit nicely into peoples homes without dominating a living room slotting into pre-existing entertainment units. No need to rebuild entertainment cabinets or redesign your entire living room to fit a giant 65" TV...

The Bild 2s offer flexible mounting solutions as well. It comes with a table stand, perfect for a sideboard or shelf-type entertainment unit, but can be wall mounted or used with one of Loewe's sleek Floorstands.

Loewe uses forward firing, good quality speaker drivers for the mid to high frequencies where directionality is key to performance and two woofer drivers for the lower frequencies (directionality of lower frequencies is not crucial) at the back of the units to fill out the bass. Loewe is one of the very few TV manufacturers that go to this extent with their audio reproduction. Most manufacturers especially in this price range require the use of a Soundbar, a costly add on, to get any semblance of decent audio.

Come try these beauties out for yourself! On demo now in Carlton.

  • Loewe Bild 3.65 OLED Television

We believe that we are selling this particular gorgeous piece of German Television Real estate at the best price in the world. The local distributor has gone all out to get the lowest sell price for this new model into the Ultra competitive and saturated Australian Television marketplace

With Loewe famous for making perhaps the world’s most desirable televisions, that $6999 price for a 65-inch OLED should be attracting attention among the local TV industry, as well as consumers.

It is a full $3000 below LG’s pricing for its OLED W8 ‘wallpaper’ model (65-inch RRP $9999), $700 below LG's E8 Series 65-inch OLED ($7699), with only the entry-level OLED from the South Korean giant coming in lower, at $6399.

Loewe’s bild 3 OLED models look good when turned on, thanks to the zero-black front-emissive nature of OLED. The blid 3.65 is a full UHD-resolution TV with High Dynamic Range, including not only HDR10 but also Dolby Vision and HLG (broadcast HDR).

And Loewe TVs generally look good as objects even when not in use. The bild 3 range has various options to mount on the wall, with its table stand on a suitable surface, or free-standing with the optional floor stand. Loewe is also renowned for improving sound quality over the usual suspects, here with dedicated front speakers, along with a digital audio link interface to connect additional Loewe sound systems.

Just traded in on a 77" Bild 7.,Mint Condition. Inc 4 pairs of 3d Glasses & Loewe wall mount bracket included. Floorstand or tablestand can be purchased separately

So who has the best TV in the world?

Loewe is a definite contender for this title in no less than two categories ... the Reference for LED and now the new OLED Bild 7.

This a ridiculously slim piece of precision chiselling to put in a special living room.

It has serious tricks ... the way the sound system peeks out from below with its motorised slide when you actuate the TV is just delicious, and the sound system itself is extremely high quality with a built in subwoofer.

If you want to buy into the LED vs OLED argument come and see this panel versus the Reference in Carlton Audio Visual. We are more than privelidged to have both on display. Matching stands of extreme elegance are available for the Bild 7 series . The Bild 7 is available in 55 and 65 inch sizes. In addition to the motorised soundbar they come with a second tuner and a 1 terabyte hard drive for recording programs internally.

  • BenQ X12000H 4K UHDR LED Home Cinema Projector

This projector is so good that it made pull the plug on our demo stock of a competing projector worth $25,000 and put the X12000H on display instead.

We were already familiar with the previous model 1200 and its lase equivalent being the LK970 but this new version the 12000H LED based model kick the ball right through the net. Some of us ... me ... are ridiculously DLP Rainbow sensitive after too many years of staring at projection displays in dark rooms with clients desperately looking for defects in the image. We couldnt detect it at all on this THX approved device and the 12000H seems to be completely free of adverse artifacts.

The BenQ X12000H combines a razor sharp 4K UHD resolution with the new Philips HLD-LED light source which provides a massive 20,000 hour lamp life with accurate stable long lasting colour. The X12000H also comes with a swath of features perfect for a top end home theatre installation including HDR10 Compatability, quiet operation at a barely audible 23db, lens shift for easy off centre installation an all glass lens and cutting edge colour and detail enhancement.

  • Sony VPL-VW570ES Native 4K projector..

This is the step above Sony's entry level projector and although it doesn't look like it from the box and the casing, this is a big step up from the VPL-VW270ES.

There are a couple of technical differences that make this projector outperform its sibling:

Dynamic Iris - this automatically adjusts the aperture on the lens depending on whether the picture is darker or lighter in colour. When there's a really bright outdoor type scene on the screen, it'll open out the aperture and let the full glory of the projector shine but when it's a darker scene like a night scene or darker indoor setting, the aperture will close so the blacks will be more defined and show more detail. This means this projector has a significantly wider colour constrast (35000:1!!) and looks much better throughout the whole colour gamut.

More Brightness - they've gone with a better lamp 280W in this projector, that throws 1800 lumens, 300 more than the VPL-VW270ES. And that's important because more lumens and light means a picture that sparkles and can reproduce colours better AND can throw bigger images if you'd like to up your screen size.

As comes standard with Sony projectors, this is a Native 4K image devoid of any 'fake it til you make it' 4K shakers. All HDMI inputs are HDCP 2.2 capable and there's enough settings and calibration options to keep even the toughest critics happy.

  • Sony 85 Inch Z9 G Master Series 8K Television

I knew as soon as I saw this Television on display at the Integrate Exhibition in Melbourne in August that I was seeing something that was moving the goalposts in direct view visual reproduction.

This Sony was voted the best product of CES2019, the prestigious US Consumer Electronics Show that is the Mecca for high end visual products.

When we were given the opportunity to be the first store in Victoria to have one on display, I leapt at it.

It arrives in a dauntingly massive box and is not for installation or moving by a casual AV person.

It seems like a throwback when you are given the job of putting it on the wall.

It has the mass of a noughties 60 inch Plasma that has two hefty chaps straining to hold it in place while somebody brave crawls below plugging the cables in before final placement on the bracket. And it seems to be thick like a projection TV form the nineties with suspicious vents above and below that reminds me of a seventies wall heater.

We hooked up some 8K content to the Z9 to show off its resolution, Venice at Carnivale. And Wow! The picture is alluring. The depth of field created by the 8K picture is astounding and the colours and brightness - mesmerizing.

Even our most hard-nosed 'I've seen it all before, nothing is extraordinary AV guys' stood staring at a couple repeats of the video, display clip muttering 'it's so pretty' to themselves. Weeks later and still I have to be very disciplined not to fall into staring at the images on that screen. It has a magnetism to it, that I've never experienced in a TV.

Others feel the same about this TV - read Tony O'Brien's review for StereoNet here.

There have been products outside of consumer land in high end aerospace and vehicular design arenas that are capable of showing full daylight brightness and max contrast and that are used for CAD rendition and were based on laser banks and considered unsafe for consumer application. The surface area of this screen in conjunction with its dynamic brightness (4000 nits peak) and resolution make it a game changer in terms of outright visual power.

  • Sony VPLVW760ES laser projector 4K whiter than white

When we first saw this it was still "Project Vulcan" and it was played at a Sony Pro dealer gathering against the other 4k offerings on the market.

The remarkable thing about its image was how off-white it made all the other projectors look. White rendition is something we tend to take for granted, reviewers always talk about the reds and the colour dynamic and black levels ... however once you see a pure white reproduced effectively you cannot go back.

Frankly this projector makes the other 4k offerings under look like yellow snow ...

Australia is possibly the cheapest place in the world to buy it. US Sell price $25,000, we expected it to sell here for $35,000Aus ... actual Australian Sale price $22,999 ...

Available for demonstration in our 65 Pelham st showroom. This is one of the best Projectors we have ever seen at CAV.
