The brand new Gold 6G series from Monitor Audio is here. There is no 200 in this new series so these are the new baby floorstander. But these babies came out well developed including a dedicated mid range driver for fantastic consistency!
A new technology on the drivers specific for the Gold 6G series is super exciting. Hexagonal Diaphragm Technology. You can see this technology on the surface of the drivers. The hexangonal shapes lower the distortion and deliver a smoother frequency response.
Couple this with the third version of the Micro Pleated Diaphragm (MPD) tweeter that is also found on the top-of the-range Hypens and it's a serious revamp of the Gold range. Essentially all the drivers have been replaced with new versions.
