Morel Soundspot SP3 Miniature speaker

It's going to take significant restraint, but I'm not going to make any ball jokes. Instead, I'll just tell you about how much we like Morel's satellite speakers. Read into that what you will. The SP3 is the new range topper in the sound spot series, these speakers pack a 4" bespoke Morel mid-range driver and 19mm soft dome tweeter. You can pick them up individually for $598 each, or as part of the MT3 theatre package, replete with subwoofer for $3,799.

So there you have it. If you want bigger balls, you got it.

When a challenge is presented to Morel's R&D team they like to take the solution one step further. Making a mini speaker that produces a full stereo performance even without a subwoofer that could be easily mistaken for a high-end floor-standing when matched with one, was a real dare due to the limited internal volume small speakers posse.

Advanced metal processing and design allowed the SP-3 to be both strong and light weight, with an enclosure constructed of a merely 1mm thick steel to maximize the internal volume. A port was created in the front of the satellite to extend bass frequencies. The tailored drive unit was specifically tuned to work in that small enclosure.
