Naim XPS Linear Power Supply

The Naim XPS is a substantial upgrade for a system built around the Naim NDS Network Music Player, providing the dedicated external power supply that allows this accomplished streamer to show what it can really do. Designed with Naim’s characteristically meticulous approach to power delivery, the XPS offers a more sophisticated alternative to the standard supply, with carefully engineered circuitry intended to provide cleaner, more stable power to the NDS’s sensitive digital and analogue stages. It’s a natural partner for a player of the NDS’s calibre, particularly in a high-end system where the quality of the source deserves rather more attention than it might initially receive.

With its substantial toroidal transformer and six separately regulated, low-noise outputs, the XPS is designed to give a cleaner, more carefully controlled power supply. The improvement is best appreciated through the music itself: greater clarity, more convincing dynamics and a stronger sense of timing, with subtle details and musical expression emerging more naturally. For Naim owners looking to take the next step without replacing an already accomplished source, the XPS is a particularly compelling upgrade. It’s a fine example of Naim’s modular approach to high-end audio, allowing a very good music player to become a rather more accomplished one.
