Rega AOS MC Moving Coil Phono Stage

Based heavily on Rega’s reference Aura MC phono stage, this little half-width aluminium box is dedicated to doing one job properly: making your records sound frighteningly real. It digs into the grooves for detail, texture and timing, giving vocals more presence, instruments more personality and your favourite albums that slightly unnerving feeling of being real rather than merely listening to a recording.

And this is where things get deliciously nerdy without requiring a degree in electrical engineering. The AOS can be adjusted to suit a wide range of moving-coil cartridges, with selectable loading and extra gain for low-output MCs, while its all-analogue, two-stage design keeps unnecessary circuitry out of the signal path. Low-noise FETs, a fully aluminium shielded case and a clever temperature-compensating servo all work behind the scenes, leaving the music to come through untampered with. In other words, the AOS doesn't add any unnecessary fireworks to your vinyl - it simply removes more of the stuff getting between you and the music.
