Thor PS10P8 Prodigy Power Station

The Thor PS10P8 Prodigy Power Station employs a decidedly "take no prisoners" approach to something most of us tend to ignore until it goes wrong: the electricity feeding our equipment. Designed for hi-fi, home theatre, gaming and professional AV systems, it combines pure sine wave power conditioning with automatic voltage stabilisation, helping keep the supply steady even when the incoming mains is less than perfect. There’s also advanced EMI/RFI filtration, with up to 70% noise reduction, which can help minimise electrical interference across audio, video, networking and computing equipment. A front-panel display keeps an eye on input and output voltage, current and system status, while selectable 220V or 240V output adds a useful degree of flexibility for specialist and imported equipment.

Protection is equally well considered. Thor’s patented non-sacrificial surge protection is designed to keep working after surge events rather than becoming a casualty itself, with a claimed 1 nanosecond reaction time and an unlimited connected equipment warranty. The integrated Prodigy P8 filtration board adds another layer of filtering and protection, while RJ45 and antenna protection and an external earth connection extend the coverage beyond the power outlets themselves. At 436mm wide, 195mm high and 380mm deep, the PS10P8 is also sensibly proportioned for a rack or AV cabinet.
