Each element of the hand-built crossover has been carefully scrutinised, with the goal of bringing you closer to the music – with an expansive soundstage and ridiculously good imaging. Achieving a perfectly flat frequency response is only a small part of the story. At VAF they have always concentrated their efforts on the time and phase domain. The intricate design ensures that all frequencies from both the woofer and tweeter reach your ears at the same time, making instruments and vocals sound like they are in the room with you. VAF DC2S Bookshelf Loudspeakers
The DC-2S is suitable in small to medium size rooms for great stereo reproduction or used in a home theatre application for front or surround channels.
The new 130 mm natural fibre cone mid/bass driver incorporates a unique vented alloy chassis. Supported on a linear suspension and soft low damping rubber surround with a non-conducting fibre voice coil former. This driver has incredibly low noise and distortion.
VAF have combined this with another unique driver for the higher frequencies. These are handled by a dual concentric diaphragm tweeter with a specialised central phase plug to control and give excellent on and off axis performance. This gives the DC-2S even more natural and accurate reproduction over a wider area in your room.
Power handling as with all VAF speakers is excellent, maintaining very low distortion levels even at higher volumes. Important when you want to reproduce the full dynamic potential of your music or movie soundtrack.
These unique drivers are housed in a solid hand finished double sided veneer cabinet with a front baffle up to 30mm thick. The front baffle precisely time aligns the bass and tweeter.
The crossovers are hand-built, using air cored pure copper inductors wound in-house to exact tolerances. All components are matched and connected point-to-point, ensuring a more direct and pure signal path.
Made by hand in VAF’s own manufacturing facility in Adelaide, every speaker is taken through an extensive process, uniquely made for you.
