WiiM Bar 3.0.2 Dolby Atmos Soundbar
WiiM has expanded its growing range into the world of home cinema with the WiiM Bar 3.0.2, a Dolby Atmos soundbar that puts rather more personality into the usual black rectangle. Its glass-covered 2.1-inch circular display shows album art, track information, EQ settings, Smart Presets, playback controls and even dynamic wallpapers, while the 8-driver acoustic system combines three mid-woofers, three tweeters and two upward-firing full-range drivers with four passive radiators. Add RoomFit™ auto-correction and support for Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS and LPCM, and the Bar has the ingredients to give films, TV and music considerably more scale than its modest proportions suggest.
It also happens to be rather well connected. HDMI eARC handles the television, while Wi-Fi 6E, Ethernet and Bluetooth with LE Audio open things up for streaming, with support for services and platforms including Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Google Cast Audio, Roon and DLNA/UPnP. More interestingly, the WiiM Bar can grow into a 5.1.2 system by grouping compatible WiiM wireless surrounds and a WiiM subwoofer, all controlled through the WiiM Home App, voice control or the remote. That makes it less of a standalone soundbar and more of a starting point for a properly expandable WiiM home theatre system.
