WiiM Sound Lite Smart Speaker
The WiiM Sound Lite takes much of what has made WiiM’s streamers and amplifiers so appealing and places it in a rather handsome, self-contained smart speaker. Available in black or white fabric finishes, it combines a 4-inch paper-cone woofer with dual 1-inch silk-dome tweeters and 100 watts of amplification, delivering properly substantial sound from a compact enclosure. High-resolution streaming up to 24-bit/192 kHz is supported, while AI RoomFit™ calibration uses your room and placement to help keep everything balanced and agreeable. In short, it is designed to make the most of your music without requiring a degree in acoustic engineering, which seems entirely sensible.
The Lite differs from the standard WiiM Sound by doing without the display and bundled voice remote, leaving control to the excellent WiiM Home App, voice control or the speaker’s touch buttons. It remains impressively versatile, however, with Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, Ethernet, analogue input and support for Chromecast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, DLNA and plenty more besides. Add a second Sound Lite - or, rather cleverly, pair it with a standard WiiM Sound - for proper left and right stereo, or incorporate it into a multi-room or compatible WiiM home theatre system as a surround or centre speaker. A very modern speaker, then, but thankfully one that still remembers its principal duty is simply to make music enjoyable.
