Rab sat down with Yamaha to have a listen to this soundbar, subwoofer combination before its official launch and was very impressed.
It delivers on their claims on a really wide soundstage and also a real finesse, detail and clarity to the audio which many soundbars lack!
This offering also comes in a package with two wireless rear speakers. These rears can also be used as portable standalone speakers.

Yamaha SR-X50A Soundbar
The SR-X50A has an amazingly wide sound field. Yamaha engineers have designed drivers specifically to point upwards to crate the effect of height speakers within the bar. But more than that, they haven't simply used the same design for the drivers that will deliver more of the dialogue and sense of width. They have tested and selected different drivers that perform that job better! Sounds simple, but not many soundbar manufacturers take such care in their design.
Moreover, Yamaha has drawn from its existing 'True Sound' principles drawing down on existing Yamaha technologies like their uniquely designed bass reflex port, the rear chamber and the particular type of external fabric that all combines to make this classic Yamaha, clear sound.
