  • Krix IC-30

Previously called the Hemispherix AS, this is essentially the same unit relabeled as the IC-30

Krix in-ceiling speakers are a fantastic option if you're in need of good sound and discreet aesthetics.

Made in Australia, they're great value. Each unit comes complete with a Back Box which most other manufacturers leave out or have an added extra.

The Back box is important for sound and keeping those creepy crawlies out! Also if you've got an upstairs, Back Boxes reduce the amount of sound leaking from the speakers to upstairs.

  • Krix Phoenix loudspeaker

Once upon a time twenty five years ago we sold a loudspeaker called the Krix Lyrix ... all Krix speakers have to end in "ix" by the way ... it's a peculiarity they are allowed after being a successful business for forty years.

The Lyrix was a fantastic D'Appolito floorstanding loudspeaker in an era of humdrum "system" speakers. When they were released most speakers purchased in Australia were essentially hollow chipboard boxes with arbitrary drive units intended as furniture for colourful system packages.

The Lyrix were a speaker that a serious enthusiast could appreciate. I recall how very good the wood finish of these speakers would smell when we unpacked them.

The Phoenix is the Lyrix evolved for the second decade of the 21st century with bass presence and detail that is outstanding in its price class. A great all rounder for medium and large room music and cinema reproduction, and they still smell good ...

  • Krix Acoustix MK2 bookshelf loudspeakers

A real sleeper in the marketplace. One Saturday morning recently we happened to leave a pair of these running in stereo with Adele playing through them and three groups of people bought them one after the other in a kind of Hi Fi feeding frenzy. They hadn't intended to buy loudspeakers but they were caught up by the energy and presence that the Acoustix are able to portray.

Their secret is the D'Appolito configuration with large motor to cabinet ratio and an excellent tweeter with a cabinet that is immensely solid.

Once when I was visiting the Krix factory in South Australia they demonstrated the cabinet integrity of the Acoustix by taking one off the production line and asking the nastiest largest Bikiest individual there to destroy it. Well Roy jumped on it, sledgehammerd it, threw it to the ground, dropped it out of a third story window onto concrete and really went for it with quite disconcerting violence.

Unlike Mr Musk and the Tesla Cybertruck windows the Acoustix came out of this encounter unscathed except for surface and corner damage ....

Oh, and they sound damn good too. They have is rhythm, pace and slam that a speaker on a stand has no right to be able to produce. The Acoustix Mk2 is simply toe tapping fun. $1675 in a real wood veneer, or save a few dollars with black vinyl wrap at $1395.

  • Krix Esoterix Altum new concept high end bookshelf speakers

We first saw this unique design as a tentative and secret prototype while drinking wine from the Krix Vineyard two years ago.

There is no doubt that Krix possess world class R&D facilities with state of the art instrumentation and analysis. It was with interest that I looked under a table in one of their laboratories and found the disassembled carcasses of B&W and Monitor Audio bookshelf speakers during that visit ...

It turns out that Scott has always nurtured an ambition to shake the audiophile tree for the high end bookshelf speaker. The Esoterix Altum is the result of that.

Now not everybody has grooved to their appearance it seems.

Think of them as that bespectacled fair haired girl who always sits quietly at the front of class while the cool kids hang shite on her. Then one day she’s on the front cover of Vogue while taking a break from studying medicine at Cambridge ... these speakers will one day be recognized as classics of sound and aesthetics ...

Matching stands for the Esoterix Altums are available at $1655.

  • Krix Megaphonix Floorstanding, Pair

When you want your surround system to translate those explosions a little more literally, yet still keep your vocal track lovely and clean, Krix have you covered. The semi-commercial SX range is all about bringing the "theater" into "home theater". These are 95dB efficient, horn loaded beasties that have utterly devastating dynamic range and slam. Amazingly exciting, and potentially dangerous; they are the audio equivalent of a big bag of cocaine (apparently). Learn More

  • Krix Neuphonix Mk2

The mighty Neuphonix is the top of the range of Krix floorstanding home speakers. Like a Mission 753 in configuration but much better performance.

There's no finer way to break one's own ribcage than to put a kick drum in the chamber and pull the trigger on the Krix flagship speakers. A true three way cross over ensures the crisp mids and high notes are not muddled by the awesome power of the 4-driver bass array.

There is an in wall version of this loudspeaker that is surely amongst the best architectural loudspeakers available.

  • Krix MX-30 System

We have this set up as an Atmos reference system in one of our buildings and, though I say so myself, we have done some absolutely fabulous work in Melbourne and Victorian homes with this system.

Designed for larger dedicated home cinemas with an acoustically transparent screen, the MX-30 will deliver your favourite movie soundtracks with supreme definition and accuracy, right through the picture and into your seat. Larger bass drivers and compression high frequency drivers provide an extended frequency response at higher sound pressure levels.

  • Krix LX-7 Linear LCR Soundbar

The brand new passive soundbar by Krix is here. Combining the highest quality sound with the neat look of a Soundbar.

Specialty Krix designed tweeters complete with Wave Guide for extra control and performance. Coupled with paper cone bass drivers, this unit gives you the very best of Krix Home Theatre sound quality.

This is a passive Soundbar that doesn't have an amplifier on board. Krix have deliberately chosen this design because of the sound advantages in a passive design. The amplifiers on board traditional Soundbars are greatly compromised because they need to fit into these small Soundbar chassis. They are generally D-class amps with a thin uninspiring sound.

Keeping the amp separate is the answer to a no-compromise Soundbar.

Available in three standard sizes to fit under 75", 85" & 100" TV screens but also customisable to be made in any size ($5495 for custom size).

  • Krix IC-50 (price per unit)

Sometimes a speaker needs to be discreet. That shouldn't mean that it can't sound good however. Take the Krix IC-50 all that's visible in your room is a speaker grille and a vanishing thin bezel...

These were previously the Krix Atmospherix AS. Essentially unchanged, Krix have swapped the name out for a more traditional model number.

Slightly more money for the version with a Black grill ($612)

  • Krix IC-20

Small in-ceiling speakers that are convenient for tight spaces but lack the depth and sound quality of their bigger brothers, IC-30 and IC-50.

These are convenient for spaces where the structure of the build requires a smaller speaker. They are also weather resistant and handy for Alfresco areas.

Their twist and lock installation method means that anyone will find it easy to install these little speakers themselves.
