The Kantu 14 only differs from the 12 in that the mid range 3" ceramic coated driver has been replaced by a 4" ceramic coated driver. These ceramic coated drivers merge the best of the detail of a metal dome tweeter and a softer ceramic coating for warmth and delicacy.

In Rod's own words the 14 is very similar to the 12 and the change was necessitated by manufacturer changes. The midrange is ever so slightly bigger sounding but the tonality and all other metrics remain the same.

Rod listens to and adjusts every crossover to make sure it's perfectly accurate and to make sure your speakers are as good if not better than the last set.

Because they're made and designed in Australia, they are exceptional value as well.

Clean power is important if you're chasing high end sound (and if you're here then of course you are!). Power filters give the incoming mains signal a thorough scrub before feeding it into your system. The Dectet filters your AC supply, then routes it out to ten points, separated into 3 different zones. There is a high current zone for your power amps and subs, then two separate 'isozones' to keep your analog and digital signals separate. A very useful little phono stage that doesn't choke the richness of your vinyl.

One of my pet peeves is when people have a fairly good turntable set up but are using a very sub par phono stage. Often the most cost effective upgrade is a stand alone phono stage.

Lesser phono stages will bring in an edge to the vinyl sound. We all put so much value on Vinyl because of its inherently analogue sound devoid of the brittleness of digital. So please, no need to spend the earth but a good quality phono stage, like this one, is well worth it!
