The answer was simple; the engineers added a custom designed, high quality, moving magnet phono stage based around the multi-award winning What Hi-Fi? 5 Star Fono Mini.

Drunkeness or narcolepsy are no obstacle to playing records with the Denon DP300. With full automatic needle on and needle off the record, and front mounted controls that can be used with the lid down, this will get you through the night.
This is the classic mid priced Japanese turntable that to be honest was always outpointed on sound quality by Rega and Thorens but has its niche because of fully automatic operation allied to a reasonable tonearm and cartridge with a good acoustic plinth design. This is actually a surprisingly competent vinyl replay machine that age has wearied and is of fundamentally good quality and value.

I used to play a game with millenials when I would show them the platter of the earlier model RP1 and say that if they could tell me what it was made of that I would give them the record player for free. I don't do it anymore ...

The platter is actually made of bakealite and is all part of the Mr Gandy's principle of building the turntable as a vibration sensing instrument. Most people associate it with Radios and Telephones from the thirties and forties, it is uniquely appropriate in this engineering context and is a far better solution than the cheap alloy and MDF normally used as the platter material iin budget turntables.

The Pro-Ject E1 BT is a handy version of the E1 with Bluetooth transmitter capable of transmitting the turntable signal to Bluetooth speakers, headphones or amplifers.

Be aware though that in turning your turntable signal into a Bluetooth one, you are makng it digital. The beauty of the analogue signal from start to finish which is what makes Vinyl stand out from other music mediums is lost.

The best way to do vinyl is therefore still with cables. But if Bluetooth is absolutely necessary, this is a good option.

The new E1 Turntable sits above the Primary E in the Pro-Ject range giving some generous upgrades to the Primary E.

A new tonearm is made from Aluminium and is stiffer and more acoustically dampening.

The bearings are the same as in the Debut Carbon and the Deck can be upgraded with an Acrylic platter or even a standard Debut platter.

The belt is placed on the subplatter accidentally having the belt slip off the rotating platter is not an issue.
