The Pro-Ject E1 BT is a handy version of the E1 with Bluetooth transmitter capable of transmitting the turntable signal to Bluetooth speakers, headphones or amplifers.

Be aware though that in turning your turntable signal into a Bluetooth one, you are makng it digital. The beauty of the analogue signal from start to finish which is what makes Vinyl stand out from other music mediums is lost.

The best way to do vinyl is therefore still with cables. But if Bluetooth is absolutely necessary, this is a good option.

The new E1 Turntable sits above the Primary E in the Pro-Ject range giving some generous upgrades to the Primary E.

A new tonearm is made from Aluminium and is stiffer and more acoustically dampening.

This is a unit that is ultimately a high-end Hi-Fi component but it's ease of use and multitude of functions put it into the upmarket lifestyle realm as well. 'Lifestyle' for me has become a bit of a cringeworthy term that has too often become associated with some compromise in audio quality for the sake of a better end user experience. REL now is making a cute wooden subwoofer. A vintage sounding unit, it doesn't have quite the tightness, depth of bass and immediacy of something like the REL S510. 

Also unlike the T series of subwoofers in the REL range, it doesn't have the grippy, fullsome class A/B amplifier.

But what a lovely subwoofer for a set of bookshelf speakers! It's a soft sound that is different to other REL subs but altogether is more emotional where other RELs might feel a little colder.

It sounds so much better than the awful wooly subs that populate the sub $1000k space, that's for sure.

And what a pretty little thing as well. It has a furniture grade, mid century finish that is very smart yet equally homely.

As there are more signals in our environments and as our electrical supply is dirtier Ie. has more fluctuations and noises living in it, power cables, power conditioners and regenerators are delivering more and more gains to the average punter.
