Meze Headphones continue to reach new heights. They're not content with their already exceptional Empyrean Headphones they've managed to take them to the next level. These are a group of people who are passionate and dedicated to creating the best Headphone experience they can.

They work closely with Ukrainian company Rinaro (now with an extra manufacturing facility in Poland!) who make their planar magnetic drivers. Rinaro has been very clever inching out all of the efficiency in the drivers by combining a switchback and a spiral design into the one driver to maximise performance.

Other beautiful details over the Empyrean Is are the options in Ear pads. Depending on your listening preferences, you can switch out the ears pads betweeen an angled and a 'duo' version. The angled version will give you an airier, more transparent signature.

We have been playing around with these Headphones now for a couple of weeks and find their detail and efficiency absolutely breathtaking. If you're after something that has that detail and has a bit more warmth, the step up to the Elite version ($7000) is still recommended.

To note: These only come in the one colour, black, at least for the moment.

Rel has developed an all-new driver for this special edition subwoofer based on the Rel S/812 unit. This is the BlackWidow Driver. A 12" carbon fibre active driver. 

Like the other smaller siblings in the S series, these units are stackable up to three units high!

The Pro-Ject E1 BT is a handy version of the E1 with Bluetooth transmitter capable of transmitting the turntable signal to Bluetooth speakers, headphones or amplifers.

Be aware though that in turning your turntable signal into a Bluetooth one, you are makng it digital. The beauty of the analogue signal from start to finish which is what makes Vinyl stand out from other music mediums is lost.

The best way to do vinyl is therefore still with cables. But if Bluetooth is absolutely necessary, this is a good option.

The new E1 Turntable sits above the Primary E in the Pro-Ject range giving some generous upgrades to the Primary E.

A new tonearm is made from Aluminium and is stiffer and more acoustically dampening.

The bearings are the same as in the Debut Carbon and the Deck can be upgraded with an Acrylic platter or even a standard Debut platter.

The belt is placed on the subplatter accidentally having the belt slip off the rotating platter is not an issue.

Every once in a while one of our brands puts their best foot forward and proffers a design exercise of the level of a McLaren F1 or similar from the car world. These particular speakers are from that same school of engineering innovation that produced the Avro Vulcan and the GMA T50 but are actually far more useful ... and affordable ...

The first time I played them with my all too familiar Johnny Cash "Hurt", I immediately recognised an extra layer of revealed detail in the upper registers. However the Hyphn can do this without being piercingly actinic like so many high end loudspeaker designs. Mr Cash simply was eloquently melancholic in a heart rending rendition of an all too familiar tune.

As there are more signals in our environments and as our electrical supply is dirtier Ie. has more fluctuations and noises living in it, power cables, power conditioners and regenerators are delivering more and more gains to the average punter.

We've really found that sorting out the power into HiFi systems even in the lower and middle end of what we sell makes huge improvements in the sound quality. Often even more than going out and buying a whole new amplifier of set of speakers!

It is comparitively cost effective as well. If you are thinking of upgrading, talk to us first and maybe even some simple power products like this Isotek V5 Polaris and Initium cable will cure your upgraditis.

This is an interesting unit designed to drop the price of the subwoofers just a bit . It doesn't have the smarts of the Pro version with the EQing abilities of the App nor does it have the upgraded drivers and tweaks to the componentry.

It still has a 12" driver and a high powered D class amplifier.

For $799 this is excellent value. In fact there is not another heart and soul amplifier that combines such convenient and contemporary features at such a sensible price.

Encel, a Melbourne company, have toiled for months and months to perfect the design and construction of this unit on which they have collaborated with  one of the worlds greatest amplifier manufacturers, Rotel.

You will buy this amp and simply be happy! The only hard part will be deciding which gen z colour option to go with.

Available in charcoal or white, the Brains amplifier has a moving magnet phono stage for connecting a turntable, optical and coaxial options for digital sources such as a CD player or TV, and an aptX HD Bluetooth receiver to enable streaming from mobile devices. A pair of line-level auxiliary inputs also allows for the connection of analogue components, while a dedicated 3.5mm headphone output is included for listening in private.

Encel have a pair of loudspeakers to match. They have also closely collaborated on these with an established major speaker manufacturer. They are surprisingly good and again are available in an unusual range of colours .... for $1300 odd you can exploit the audio synergy of the two together to make for a reallly cohesive stereo system. With good kit like this that you can hook up to a record player, via bluetooth, or even a television, you really should never buy a soundbar or plastic wireless loudspeakers.

This is Epson's first real 4K unit but more than that, it will actually pixel shift that whole 4K matrix. This means it'll be BETTER than 4K...and that's unheard of in the residential projector market.

It's also a 3 chip LCD design meaning there is zero rainbowing. Rainbows are nice after rain but not on your projector screen. There really aren't many projectors with 3 chips under the $10K mark.

Traditionally this place in the market has been dominated by Sony projectors in Australia. But this Epson may just trump them!

This is the largest loudspeaker Spendor have ever produced. Employing 2 of their famous 12" bass units as used in the SP100 in each enclosure allowing incredible effortlessness in the bass. We have managed to source a 100m roll of Oval 9 speaker cable. As such we will be the only retailer in Vic able to cut oval 9 by the meter. The savings from this rather than a factory terminated pair is incredible. This cable normally retails for $1680 for a 3m pair.
