Van den Hul The Revolution Hybrid Speaker Cable (Available on Roll)

The general construction is the same as with The REVELATION HYBRID:

• First an inner group with 308 x 0.14 mm. very high grade Matched Crystal (MC) OFC strands with a dense coating of very pure silver. The inner group exhibits a total metal cross-section area of 4.74 mm².
• Covering this core is a Linear Structured Carbon ® (LSC) saturated layer which bridges minor defects and captures and transforms the radiated magnetic field of the inner conductor to an audio signal again.
• The helically wound outer conductor structure employs the same silver coated MC OFC metal quality as found in the core and consists of 16 separate conductors, each with 19 strands of 0.11 mm. This produces a metal cross-section area of 2.89 mm². These 16 outer conductors are individually insulated and are standardly wired in parallel with the centre conductor, giving a single lead cable. Their being individually insulated however also allows them to be wired together as a separate signal return. (Versions wired as such and fit with matching connectors are available either as twin-lead speaker cable or as single-ended interconnect on special customer demand).
• The total metal cross-section area of The REVOLUTION HYBRID is 7.63 mm² giving the cable its very low resistance of 0.226 Ohm/100 m.

The outer jacket is made of red HULLIFLEX ® 3, a mechanically superb insulation material.

“Emotively Satisfying.” I’ve just had the opportunity to run this cable between an Audio Research Reference 75 power amplifier driving a pair of Wilson Sasha speakers. A combination so transparent and truthful that a speaker cable is revealed with its full character and with sins of omission or commission with no place to hide.

The Revolutio is a wonderful cable with a harmonic truthfulness that I’ve not heard from other brands at any price point. It is also beautifully detailed and dynamically very responsive and fast. Micro and macro dynamics are reproduced with life-like scale and accuracy. 

But here’s the reason why I settled on the Revolution as my speaker cable of choice for the Long haul:  the Revolution has something that rival cables and I’ve heard and owned many pricier cable over my audio journey.It has the best lower midrange you can hear from any rival cable no matter the cost. 

This lower midrange is the foundation for the Revolution’s frequency reproduction. As for bass, if you have a speaker like a Wilson Shasta which digs very deep in the bass and presents it with speed, clarity and spatial information, you won’t find anything better than the Revolution at anywhere near its price.

But this palpably real lower-midrange is so emotive and enjoyable it reaffirms that real audiophiles became audiophiles because they’re music lovers.
