  • Van den Hul The Revolution Hybrid Speaker Cable (Available on Roll)

Please Note This is a single Lead loudspeaker cable. You will need 4 runs total for a pair of speakers.

During the great success of The REVELATION HYBRID, there was the question if it was possible to produce a lower priced version.
This was the moment The REVOLUTION HYBRID was born: a single-lead loudspeaker cable with the same sonic properties but smaller in size.

Please call us to make sure we have the length and termination you require in stock.

  • Yamaha NS2000A loudspeakers ... Agent of the planet Zylon

A beautifully finished tall floorstanding loudspeaker built like a high end musical instrument. These are the newest release incorporating the Yamaha harmonious design principle wherein all the drive units are made of the same material being a mix of high tech zylon and original Spruce pulp.

    Yamaha NS2000A loudspeaker official site

"Soundstage Australia" on the Yamaha NS2000 The Manager of Yamaha Audio Japan who runs the design team for the loudspeakers came to visit us at Carlton Audio Visual and I made this little video of him discussing the inception of the Ns2000a. His English is a little broken but was very interesting:

  • Sonus faber Omnia ... Italian wireless speaker streamer

This is so pretty, a lustrous combination of wood with LED inlay and is a very sweet sound. It has already received a number of awards for its grace of design.

Unkindly described as a very elegant chopping board by one of my colleagues, the Omnia is actually a very clever piece of audio design that is to compete with the Devialet Phantom/Naim Muso type product. The Devialet and the Naim are actually really tough competition but on looks alone this one is a winner.

  • Auralic Aries G1.1

The previous Aries G1 has been superb but relatively Auralic has released a new model with some significant upgrades including a high mass base and it now supports Airplay 2.

The new high mass plate not only looks great but increases sonic performance as well.

Reviewers have been very positive with the upgrades for the new version as well. Jason from The Ear says when compared to its predecessor:

"what surprised [him] given that they aren’t that different under the skin was that the G1.1 sounded so much better. It has finer detail, is fuller and richer and even excels when it comes to melody, painting a much more complete picture of the music.”

  • Chord Hugo M Scaler

For the uninitiated in the digital realm of HiFi, the exact purpose and functionality of the M Scaler can seem perplexing. A unit that sits between your digital source and your DAC to drastically improve the digital signal....isn't it all ones and zeroes at that stage? How can you make ones and zeroes better?

Well, it's all about the Taps...the digital Taps that is. Taps refers to how many times and therefore how accurately the unit revisists the algorythm that's going to create the analogue Wave Form from the sample rate that's given by the source. Normally DACs would perform this function themselves but no DAC, not even Chord Electronics very own Dave comes even close to the amount of Taps that the M Scaler has. Normally an ordinary DAC would have a 100-tap filter, the Dave has 164,000-tap filter but the M Scaler has 1,015,808-tap filter!

In Rob Watts own words "If you have a conventional filter with 100 taps, you will recover some of the transient information. A 100-tap filter gives you sufficiently good frequency-domain performance, but not in the time domain. . . . Every time you increase the number of taps, you improve the perception of pitch, timbre gets better—bright instruments sound brighter, dark instruments sound darker—the starting and stopping of notes becomes easier to hear, the localization of sounds get better. There is less listening fatigue—the brain has to do less processing of the information presented to it to understand what's going on."

And that perfectly sums up what you hear when you add an M scaler to a Chord Hugo TT2 or the Dave. It's an opening up of the musicality getting this normally step wise wave form of a CD player or 44kHz back to the most accurate analogue Wave Form you can possibly get.

And this is where the M Scaler is particularly special because it's the most accurate digital device out there by a long margin. And that's because of the Taps. Turn on the Taps!

  • Cyrus CDi-XR

At 9 years old, my first trip overseas was spent in the UK visiting family and friends.

Dad (mis)spent most of his youth in Cambridge and we followed him around to his old haunts.

But because he owned and ran Carlton Audio Visual a 'family trip' was always sprinkled with a bit of Hi-Fi. Somehow the family and friends we visited were conveniently located next to HiFi factories...and nestled just next to Cambridge is Huntington where the Cyrus factory still develops and produces its units.

Needless to say after such an early introduction to the brand, our whole family has owned Cyrus gear. I think my brother currently has 6 cyrus mono blocks set up with his Dynaudio speakers - a great combination. I own a smaller stack with CD8SE, Phono Signature and PSX-R power supply.

There is no doubt that this boutique English brand commands loyalty from its customers. It's a sound that is effortless and timelessly musical. Their CD players are quieter, letting you hear more detail and sound stage. And they get timing right. Attack on notes is precise & clean bringing you closer to that feeling of 'being there', with the musicians in your living.

And now Cyrus has launched their new XR series. New casework and buttons reveal a new aethestic direction for cyrus. But improvements to power supply and DAC have elevated this unit beyond their older models.

The CDi-XR is in stock now and ready to demo.

Try this with the add on PSX power supply and you will find it out performs many high end sacred cow products at double the price ...

Built with a redesigned preamplifier stage, new power supply and power amp, this is a unit that steps up considerably from older Cyrus gear.

At Carlton Audio Visual we have stocked Cyrus for over 30 years and many of us who work here have cyrus at home. I personally have a CD8SE, Phono Signature and PSX-R power supply. Their musical sound, detail and precision means that they continue to be favourites for our most discerning customers.

A small and dedicated team develop and manufacturer these products in Huntingdon, UK just outside Cambridge. Committed to exceptional musical performance.

  • Cyrus Pre XR

The new reference model pre amplifier from Cyrus has tongues wagging at Carlton Audio Visual. We're massive fans of Cyrus gear and admirers of the expertise and craft that goes into this small boutique English manufacturer.

It's no coincidence that many world renowned HiFi brands like Cyrus have popped up around the University town of Cambridge. Cambridge has forever promoted and celebrated the kind of individual obessed with the pursuit of knowledge, engineering prowess and creativity needed to create amazing HiFi. Brands like Arcam (or Audio & Research Cambridge), Cambridge Audio, Mission Electronics and Quad were all born and produced in this corner of the English countryside.

And like those brands the goal of Cyrus is to produce the best sounding electronics possible. They're able to draw on the rich knowledge and innovation that spews out of a town like Cambridge.

The Cyrus Pre XR is on demonstration now at Carlton Audio Visual.

  • Loewe Bild V.55 Reference TV

Loewe started manufacturing Televisions in 1923 and actually made the first commercially available Television. After a few years of being manufactured in other European countries, they're now back being produced and headquartered in Kronach, Germany's heartland.

I visited Kronach and the Loewe factory in 2015. Kronach is a tiny town for German standards and its industry and in fact it's whole economy has been dominated by Loewe for generations. Most people who live in Kronach work or have worked in the Loewe factory. When I was there, there were multiple generations of the one family working side by side to exacting standards on the Televisions. All of this in what is a Storybook looking town with old wooden houses and a medieval castle on the hill.

Loewe Televisions, like premium German made motor vehicles, contain a workmanship and attention to detail above their Asian made counterparts. Machine engineered alloy bezels, cable management systems, intuitive remote and interface and swivel stands that come as standard are the details that don't come with other Televisions.

The Bild V is elegant, yet solid and robust to out live most of its contempories.

The picture quality, as you'd expect with a Television of this calibre, is bold and expressive without ever seeming artificial. Although it's pitched at replacing the old Bild 5 units, the Bild V has the same panel as the higher end Bild 7 and in substance is much closer in spec to those.

Expect this Television to out perform generations of other Asian made units because of the picture and build quality. An expectional Television.

  • Yamaha CD S2100

A beautiful CD player that looks the timeless classic that it sounds. Crispiness and a neutral truthfulness to the sound are its sonic characteristics.

It's also an SACD player with XLR balanced out which for this price bracket is a real bonus. Generally, one has to spend upwards of $5000 for a half decent SACD player.

Sonically this is a very polite and neutral device, slow but smooth in mechanical operation and beautifully made.
