The Roksan Attessa Streaming Amplifier is the new entry level integrated amp from Roksan. 

The Attessa range has been built around a design ethos of simplicity and useabilty and that shines through particularly with this amplifier. 

A built in streamer using the BluOs software first developed for BlueSound means this is a traditional amplifier with all the built in modern conveniences. You can even pair this unit up with BlueSound devices, or other BluOS compatible units, to create an easy multi-room audio system in your home.

When the Rotel engineers in the Zuhai factory were asked to design a new top of the range pre amplifier they were given carte blanche to do whatever they liked to make it a reference product.

So they ended up with this massively specified twin transformer fully isolated ultra low noise and balanced clean sheet design. The only thing missing is the commensurate price point, at $2999 list this is a bargain.

An answer to a problem you didnt think you had. Naim Nait 5Si is the latest iteration of an amplifier 30 years in the making. Naim is an iconic british HiFi brand that continues its 40 year legacy of design and manufacture in Salisbury, U.K. The very first NAIT amplifier was built at a time when Mr. Tiefenbrun of Linn Acoustics was proclaiming that all that matters in a HiFi system is your source, namely your turntable. For the purest reconstruction of pace, rythym and timing one needed to perfect the source of the electronic signal path and then keep everything as simple as possible through the amplifier and speakers which inherently (according to Tiefenbrun) don't have much impact on the sound.

At this time, there was an effort to frame the amplifier in a marketable sense as just something that outputed current but wasn't part of the HiFi craftmanship and nuanced engineering that really created a true HiFi experience. 

Although I'm appreciative of how much of a difference fantastic source material makes to a HiFi system (I even own a Linn Sondek Turntable) my experience and those of countless other HiFi shoppers would indicate that the amplifiers and speakers control an enormous amount in terms of what one hears musically out of a system. And given in this day and age when many of us own multiple HiFi sources (Turntable, CD player and streamer), switching between them and keeping our amplifier and speakers constant, it's more important to get your amplifier and speaker combination right.

And Naim sought to redirect this discourse, marketing the NAIT as a delicate piece in the HiFi system capable of transforming your musical experience. They even went so far as to refuse to publish the output values of the amplifier in an attempt to get people to think about the musical qualities of a unit rather than merely to compare its Watts with another unit. Alas, we still cling to comparing each amplifier by its rated watts which can be a wholly unhelpful exercise - that is an essay for another time!

But I digress, we should be talking about the Nait 5Si! A faithful and timeless amplifier that it is, it delivers a crisp sound that's not full of colouration but will add excitement and a sense of immediacy to the music.

The RA1572 has become a mainstay on the demo floor at Carlton Audio Visual and the new RA1572 MkiII is stepping easily into its void.

A solid and popular performer that pulls the punches when it's asked. With 120W into 4 Ohms and 200W into 8 Ohms of pure Class AB amplification, you'll get slam and control with this amp.

Its connectivity and versatility is also its major strength. Aptx Bluetooth, phono stage (for direct compatibility with a Turntable), Unbalanced and Balanced XLR analogue inputs, multiple optical & coaxial digital connections and PC-USB with MQA and MQA studio (driver installation required) are some of your options.

From the old RA1572, the major difference in the new unit is it's new DAC. Instead of the older AKM DAC chips they've moved to the Texas Instruments Burr-Brown DAC chips. Giving them the MQA capability but also some extra richness and expression in the music on the digital side of things.

It keeps its classic ever-so-popular aesthetic with the retro lines and the same sound signature that Rotel are renowned for which we think is a good thing. A little tweak on an old favourite to make it that much better.

The Pre₂ DAC XR separates the pre amp into its own chassis and provides a dedicated power supply which means the pre amp can resolve more detail. The S14 Streamer Amplifier is a just add speakers product and it is really simple and easy to set up. Where previous rotel ventures into internet products have been slightly cryptic this is just a plug and play distance from the music.

I paired with really inappropriate $20K plus Sonus faber Olympica Nova 3 loudspeakers to test it that are usually loaded with the likes of 1000watt Michi monoblocks and this thing just ... sailed through ...

What struck even on the first trial was that I was able to keep turning it up ... this slim box carries a lot of real drive and it is a testament to Rotel design that such a compact slightly innocuous chassis can turn the wick up so far on difficult speakers staying clean and focused. 

There is that characteristic Rotel tonality where there is a forwardness to the upper mid that can benefit certain loudspeakers and put the singers in the room with you.

A great Integrated Amplifier that delivers oh so much power. 85 Watts per channel at this price point is a killer deal. A brilliantly smooth unit typical of what is great about musical fidelity. This is a brand that has been loved my audiophiles for decades.

This is truly one of those do-it-all Amplifiers. It is a streamer, it has phono input (turntable) and HDMI Arc (TV), DAB+ & Tuner (radio), 3 optical and 1 coax digital input. 

If you've ever thought of it, this amp probably has it.

So much so that Jason Kennedy from the stereo magazine The Ear has declared "Elex Mk4 gives you 95% of what’s on offer from the Elicit Mk5 at a notably lower price, as mentioned earlier the only real difference ... The Rega Elex Mk4 is a hi-fi bargain, of that there can be no doubt."

The DAC circuitry is based on what was a personal favourite of mine, the now discontinued DAC-R. I'm glad to see that the DAC-R is seeing a revival in the new Elex Mk 4. Two superb performers in the one box....Hoorah!

When you need an authoritive amp, plenty of power, that isn't going to compromise on warmth, this is THE ONE. Typically, this is the amp people walk away with when they're prepared to sit down and spend time listening through our range. Especially if you have speakers that are a little on the difficult side. There's no other amp in this price bracket that's as versatile to match with different speakers, as this one.

137W into 4Ohms is a considerable heft especially for this price point. Musical Fidelity has not always made a full size integrated at this price point and it's become a Must-listen for customers.

Advance Paris have redesigned their whole range. Coming out with some classy pieces.

This unit for example, is a Dual Mono preamplifier. Completely separating the two chanels in the circuit design of this model means there's no chance for cross interference. This is a very sophisticated circuitry design for the price point.

Pair this unit with the X-A600 for depth, control and vitality in your system.

Consider this unit against a Rotel RC-1572MkII ($1999) a similar price point and set of features. The Rotel doesn't have a Dual Mono design instead it emphasises the quality and capability of its toroidal transformer. Very different internal circuitry configurations mean a different sound for each unit.
