Fully controlled in the digital domain, it produces clean, crisp music from a single box. Control via a Sonos Controller or control it with the free Sonos app for iPhone/iPod Touch.

These two components are about to land for a while at Carlton Audio Visual. They are something rather special ... the AMS50 is one of those very few power amps that have been made that offers pure Class A amplification into all impedance loads with absolute stability.

The new model Compose 55 is using an LED backlight with 400 HZ processing and is a wonderfully slim and elegant device. Loewe TV's have always managed an aesthetic proportion that renders them as things of beauty in a home. There are so many techno boxes to tick on this product that it would take more than my meagre typing skills to reiterate. What is notable though is that the user interface remains simple, uniform, and easily attainable by everyday mortals.

Rega switching Pantheons?

There are some rumblings from our friends at Rega, usually so famous for their excellent turn tables, about a new reference class CD player coming very soon. Moving away from a naming convention of heavenly bodies (and hence Roman deities) we have something distinctly more Egyptian in the Isis.

This range of TVs I confess has been a humbling experience. They are just so much better than South East Asian devices, the image that greets me on oh so familiar demo material is immediately outstanding. They do that trick of adding depth to a two dimensional image and are seemingly free of all those processing artefacts that one desparately tries to ignore after youve noticed them for the first time. Oh and they look ... just gorgeous.
