Meze 99 Classics Walnut Gold... make your head beautiful
The Meze 99 Classics delivers perfect natural sound even to the pickiest of audio lovers. The walnut wood earcups, soft earpads, and the spring steel headband will make the 99 Classics an heirloom rather than just a pair of headphones.
"The definition of all around comfort"
Warm and "matte", with a quite bassy but inoffensive sound. They basically never reach a sibilant sound while somehow still maintaining a great detail reproduction. They are very immersive. The high bass response and the isolation help greatly with attenuating the low engine rumbles when travelling. Fitment is just perfect, the pair just warmly „hugging” your head. They especially sound good with jazz, reggae, and low key genres like R&B or lo-fi, but also do very well with basically all other genres I've tried like classical music, rock, hip-hop and EDM. They can sometimes sound muddy though, with the mid-bass being too overwhelming.
The *smaller earpads* that they sell significantly change the way they sound by reducing the bass, while making it deeper. They furthermore uncover the transducer's detail (but increasing the sibilance too). For me, with the smaller earpads, the headphones seem to reproduce a more natural and spacious sound, and make them more suitable for auditioning live performances and orchestra, and also gets rid of that muddiness in the low frequencies. -

Bowers and Wilkins B & W Pi6 In Ear Headphones
We've been on the look out for some quality true wireless headphones to purvey here at Carlton Audio Visual. Although we aren't normally Bowers and Wilkins dealers, we were very impressed with their in-ear options and now have them in stock!
These in-ears are very comfortable even for the most unobliging ears, their form fits much better than most in-ears. They also come with 4 different sizes of ear tips for you to experiment to find your best fit.
B & W use all sorts of tricks to make these sound and perform the best they can:
- Active Noise Cancellation
- Bluetooth 5.4 with AptX
- 3 microphones per earbud for better on-the-go phone calls
- 2 band customisable EQ

Yamaha YH- E700A
Big chunky wireless Headphones. Some people will love these because of the way they fit over the ears, others will find them too cumbersome and awkward. If that's you, you should look at the YH-L700A.
But no doubt these are a fantastic sounding Headphone for the price. And of course having the Bluetooth, wireless, active noise-cancellation is very welcome.

Earmen TR-AMP, Headphone Amp & DAC, EX-DEMO, Metallic Red
This is a quality unit. A metallic chassis houses a beefy headphone amp and DAC but still in a neat portable, battery operated form.
Nice touches are the ability to run the 3.5 and the 1/4 inch outputs simultaneously.
There's nothing clunky or cheap feeling on this unit. The volume knob feels solid and smooth and sturdy. No cheap bits of plastic attached to the unit at all.

Meze 99 NEO
Meze is very clear on who they want to buy the 99 Neo as opposed to the wood finished 99 Classic. This is a “darker, edgier” finish aimed squarely at the hipster metro dudes who want something a bit more ‘timeless’ but still highly fashionable.
It is the same core 40mm driver supra-aural design but the materials and finish have been changed as well as the pads. This is now designed for better comfort but less ostentatious in its aesthetics and something that could sit casually by the side of a laptop in Starbucks. The phrase ‘contemporary styling’ has been used and it is that and then some, yet it’s still unmistakably Meze.

Koss Pro4S Studio Monitor Headphones...that are great for audiophiles as well
Koss were the very first company to manufacture Headphones or Stereophones as they were then known for personal audio use. Prior to their SP/3 model release in 1958, Headphones were used purely for communication purposes. Think 1940s war time Telephone switch boards.
In any case, Koss has been manufacturing Headphones since 1958 in Milwaukee Wisconsin and is still owned my the Son and family of John C. Kloss who started the business. A real family tradition.
Whether you're a musician after a set of decent studio monitors or an audiophile wanting a pair of Headphones that'll give you that extra bit of detail and precision, these are the ones.
They look clunky but are light weight and therefore feel super comfortable on.

Koss BT539i Wireless Headphones, Dark Grey & White
A wireless set of comfortable over ear headphones with a decent 12 hour battery life. Koss have been making Headphones for decades and have stayed around because their gear is much loved certainly by Carlton Audio Visual staff anyway.
On a side note I was amused to read that little Koss Headphone company was caught up in the Reddit wallstreetbets fiasco that saw Reddit users rally to Koss stocks and greatly inflate its stock price. This was because people in offices on Wall Street were betting that Koss was going to lose money. Instead Koss made a huge amount of money (albeit not because of the inherent value of the company going up). Koss will keep making Headphones we all enjoy and people in the Koss family made a rather large amount of money inadvertently!

Koss Porta Pro Wireless
I've personally had Koss Porta Pro Headphones for a number of years now and I added a pair of the Koss Porta Pro wireless version to the stable after going through a couple of pairs of Earbuds that were incompatible with me...I'm still not sure whether that's because I get unusually sweaty ears or tiny ears or a combination of both but they would never stay in my ears.
These are super comfortable though and sound massively better than the Earbuds. The Bluetooth receiver does jiggle a little but that's an easy trade-off for me for not having to worry about an Earbud falling out of my ear onto the pavement.

Koss Porta Pro Classic...The Magic Headphones
Actually there is no better icon of headphone than this .. their unique spring headclamp system is as unique in cocept as a Ducati's Desmodromic Valve gear ... The Bass response is simply magnificent with a perfect balance of pressure and comfort ...
These are ridiculously undervalued headphones. I find my self often recommending them to instagrammed millennials who are seeking the latest review nurtured piece of head-fi fashion for up to a $1000 because they are a simply excellent and unique audio transducer for wearing on one's ears.
"The headphones every design lover should wear"

Koss KPH30i Headphones, White
Koss Headphones were actually the very first company to make Headphones for personal stereo listening. Founded in 1958 by John C Koss, the business is still run by the same family. In fact it's John C Koss's son and grandson who are at the helm.
Take a look at their Koss History page on their website and you'll get a sense of the seriously cool products they've made and the musicians they've collaborated with. They decked out the Airforce One Jet with Koss Headphones in 1969.
