Vinyl
Revival? Resurgence? Revolution? Whatever you want to call it, vinyl is still highly prized by audiophiles. Modern pressing techniques encode so much detail onto each LP that digital struggles to keep up. Oh yeah, and people say it sounds warm. Whatever that means. Any which way, we’ve got one of the largest ranges of turntables in the country and all the accessories you need to get the most from your wax slab.

Pro-Ject Ground It Deluxe 3
Good for Hi-Fi generally but particularly useful with Turntables. This will dampen Resonances so as not to create distortion in your system.
Handy if you don't want to fix a Wall-Mount to your wall for a Turntable or to increase the performance of your Hi-Fi system.
The Gound It 3 has the same granular mass inside it to dampen vibrations as the 1 and 2 does but it has alot more of that granular material and more solid, isolating feet than the other models too.
Top Tip: They are more useful under CD players to counter act the effects of the moving parts.

Denon DP-300F Turntable
Belt Drive fully automatic turntable ...
Drunkeness or narcolepsy are no obstacle to playing records with the Denon DP300. With full automatic needle on and needle off the record, and front mounted controls that can be used with the lid down, this will get you through the night.
This is the classic mid priced Japanese turntable that to be honest was always outpointed on sound quality by Rega and Thorens but has its niche because of fully automatic operation allied to a reasonable tonearm and cartridge with a good acoustic plinth design. This is actually a surprisingly competent vinyl replay machine that age has wearied and is of fundamentally good quality and value.Denon Homepage on the DP300F turntable

Pro-Ject E1 BT
The Pro-Ject E1 BT is a handy version of the E1 with Bluetooth transmitter capable of transmitting the turntable signal to Bluetooth speakers, headphones or amplifers.
Be aware though that in turning your turntable signal into a Bluetooth one, you are makng it digital. The beauty of the analogue signal from start to finish which is what makes Vinyl stand out from other music mediums is lost.
The best way to do vinyl is therefore still with cables. But if Bluetooth is absolutely necessary, this is a good option.
Available in Black, White and Walnut

Pro-Ject VC-E Record Cleaner
The last one of these left as the new model has arrived. New model VC-E2 is a bit more expensive ($829). This unit is brand new in a box.
This is an affordable way to step it up in your home record cleaning set up. Like the very best of record cleaners, it uses a vacuum to suck up all the residue of the cleaning liquid along with the dirt and grime on your records. Vacuums work so much better than the bath solutions picking up more of the mess on the record that's going to affect the sound and wear out your precious cartridge along the way.
For Audiophiles who love their vinyl, a good record cleaner is a must to prolong the life of your equipment and get the best quality out of the records.

Rega Planar 1 Walnut ... forty years late
Rega's much loved entry level turntable now comes in a swanky wood finish.
This is simply the best budget turntable ... ever ... and they have made it look and feel so good.
The unique factory that builds these by hand in England has never advertised and never borrowed money. They are a law unto themselves and have only one aim which is simply to allow people to have the best music in their homes for the least money and the longest time.
Constructionally this is a device of extreme simplicity but exacting tolerances and critical use of materials. Roy Gandy (the founder and where the company name comes from) is all about building sensitive vibration measurement machines.
I used to play a game with millenials when I would show them the platter of the earlier model RP1 and say that if they could tell me what it was made of that I would give them the record player for free. I don't do it anymore ...
The platter is actually made of bakealite and is all part of the Mr Gandy's principle of building the turntable as a vibration sensing instrument. Most people associate it with Radios and Telephones from the thirties and forties, it is uniquely appropriate in this engineering context and is a far better solution than the cheap alloy and MDF normally used as the platter material iin budget turntables.

Pro-Ject E1 Phono Turntable
An improved version of the Primary E Phono with a couple of very smart upgrades for only $60 more than the Primary E Phono, you're actually getting better value with this deck.
Upgraded bearings on this turntable means it actually has the same bearing as Pro-Ject's award winning and ever popular Debut Carbon! It's been paired out of the box with a quality ABS Polymer platter BUT the improved bearing means you can put on a Debut steel platter or even an Acrylic one for a serious upgrade.
It boasts a much better tonearm than the Primary E as well. Made out of Aluminium, it is sturdier and has less internal vibrations making it a quieter arm for your listening pleasure.
The belt is now underneath the platter meaning no more accidental slips of the belt from the platter and speed is controlled with a touch of a button rather than a manual change of the belt from pulley to pulley.
This version comes replete with a built-in phono stage for easy connectivity.
The perfect starter turntable that is great value but more than your basic Deck.
Comes in Black, White and Walnut.

Garrott Brothers P77i Cartridge
Garrott Brothers cartridges are one of the iconic HiFi brands for audiophiles dating back to the 1970s. They implemented early on some grounding breaking designs on relatively massed produced products.
And although the founding Garrott brothers John and Brian passed away in the 1990s, their cartridges and designs live on.
The Garrott Brothers cartridges emphasise the choosing of the correct, high quality diamonds to get the most extraction from the record. Cheaper diamonds have blemishes and gouges that will degrade the musical quality. Garrott Brothers diamond and the P77i in particular use Gem quality diamonds and orientate them so the grain of the diamond aligns with the groove of the record.
Also in this model, are built in dampening factors to give a rich musical experience to your listening. As a result of all the above new design features, the Garrott P-77 gives you a beautiful sense of the dynamics of moving coil cartridges, without the typical MC brittle treble and "listening fatique". The P77i proffers the smooth, easy-listening sound for which the best MM cartridges are noted, along with the realistic, clear mid-range for which Decca cartridges are renowned, but without the lack of warmth encountered with that particular design.

Musical FIdelity LX2 LPS MM/MC Phono Pre-amplifier
Another relatively modestly priced phono pre-amplifier with MM/MC inputs from Musical Fidelity. Only $100 more than their entry level V90 LPS, this unit gives more detail and precision because of its lower noise floor.
Still maintaining the classic forward yet warm Musical Fidelity sound.
Again though, a great option for a very good value dual input (Moving Magnet and Moving Coil cartridge) Phono Stage.

Rega ND5, Moving Magnet Cartridge
The outgoing cartridge models by Rega have been around for decades, hell even Lifetimes and they have become industry standards defining good value for money cartridges in the low to mid-fi market.
It must have been a daunting task to reengineer what has already been such a sucessful category for Rega. But they haven't shied away from the challenge!
These new moving magnet cartridges all use Neodymium magnets to generate a signal. This in itself is quite a feat. Neodymiums are the strongest magnets one can buy meaning you can create a really light fast, efficient generator with the magnets. Get it wrong though and the results could be disastrous. THese are the first Moving Magnet Neodymium cartridges that are commercially available.
On top of this, the ND5 has a Nude Elliptical Stylus and an Aluminium cantilever.
The sound is tighter bass and wider soundstage than anything that has come before.
It will be factory fitted on the Planar 3 and Planar 6

Rega Planar 1 Turntable, bakelite meets 21st century
When they build these record players in the factory in Southend in the U.K there is a man whose sole job is to assemble the tonearm bearing and he sets the tolerance on the tonearm to below one Micron. No other manufacturer engineers their budget record players so extremely by hand ... or comes even close to the Rega engineering tolerances at this price level.
This is simply the best budget turntable ... ever ... and they have made it look and feel so good.
