However the straight DVD performance is no threat to a dedicated DVD player by a margin greater than difference beetween analogue and digital, so much grain , so little bandwidth...

Samsung are without a doubt now one of the two or three prime vision product purveyors of the planet. That they have achieved this status alongside Sony et al in such a short time is an indication of the talent that lies within this narrow southern state. The success of Samsung products is a story of quality mixed with innovation that is otherwise hallmarked in history by the likes of Honda and other Japanese sunrise companies of the sixties... lets hope that they can stay with the baton on this. They are extremely diverse in their productive output.
